Personality

[Care-free]
Jasper rarely worries, even if he's been given a vital task to carry out, he'll just take it all in his stride as if nothing was less or more important. This stress free lifestyle he has is brilliant unless there's any kind of deadline involved in which case he'll leave things to the last minute, get into a panic, and half-ass the work which could have been amazing if he had made the effort. His sister, Alice, often has to whine at him and tell him to get his act together so he won't get in trouble with Linneus.

[Clumsy]
Jasper doesn't watch were his feet are going, or any of his limbs for that matter. He's constantly stumbling over rocks and slight dips in the sand, knocking things over with his tail. He's sometimes seen as some kind of joker with all his fumbling around but in reality he's just a clumsy dragon who needs to keep control of his limbs.

[Loveable]
Friendly, charming, a social butterfly; all these things and more have earnt Jaspers reputation as an all-round nice guy and someone you would quite like to hang around with even if you've never met him. His relaxed demeanour means he can make fast friends with new dragons and can be trusted by almost every member of Eremus. You'd be hard-pushed to find anyone who despised Jasper.

[Inquisitive]
Jasper's hardly a genius but that doesn't mean he doesn't like to learn (or try to anyway)! He loves to explore every nook and cranny he can fit his snout into and it hasn't been unknown for him to get stuck now and again during his adventures. He likes to join the Healer on their rounds of gathering herbs to use as medicine so he can learn more about the world around him, he also enjoys hearing about stories from older members of the kingdom no matter how over-exaggerated they are. If he was smarter he would have liked to pursue the Healer job and become a Healer Apprentice but his ability to forget things as soon as he's learnt them landed him as a Warrior to put his strength to good use.

[Over-ambitious]
He thinks he's better than he is in reality, constantly showing off his skills which he's convinced he's the best at. Being over-ambitious is also one of the qualities that lead him to getting stuck on places and the cause of some of his injuries. He tries to fly through small gaps and tunnels that are far too small to fit his enormous wingspan but, of course, he won't understand this until it's too late and he's gone and got a bruised wing.

[Lazy]
Can't find Jasper? Check around the oasis on the northern side of the island. He likes to spend most of his time either relaxing in the shade of the trees near the waters edge or taking a leisurely fly through the cool air radiating from the oasis. He'd be more than happy to help out around the Kingdom but he'd much rather be doing his own thing which is more often than not, lazing around and spending time with his friends rather than manual labour.

[Protective]
Mostly over his friends, his kingdom, and above all else his sister Alice. He's do anything to protect his little sister and would fight to the death if it meant securing her safety and allowing her to live on. Whatever you do, don't mess with Alice. If you do you've got her big brother to deal with and that isn't going to be pretty.

Back Story

Jasper and his sister, Alice were born and raised on a tiny mass of land to the north of the Aemulis Islands. It's minute size meant it had gone undetected by the dragons on the larger islands, so they were able to live the carefree life not ruled by a Sovereign. Their father raised the two young ones by himself as their mother was lost at sea during a large storm with hurricane-like winds during the fall months, not long after Alice's egg was laid. Jasper has vague memories of her but they are very hazy and they're nothing to get upset over since he was only five years old when the incident occurred and never really got to know her at all. She was presumed dead and from then on their father was very protective as to where Jasper and Alice played, they were forbidden to leave the island unless accompanied by their father as he feared that they too wouldn't return. It was boring having only two other dragons to talk to and Jasper began to get restless, even more so as he hit early adolescence.

One night as his father and sister were asleep he made the bold decision to head out into the unknown skies around him. All night he soared through the darkness stretching out his wings and diving through the clouds as if they were waves in the ocean. This was the first time he had ever really tasted freedom and he didn't want to give it up. As much as he loved his father and how much he appreciated how much effort his father had put into raising him, Jasper didn't want his father to be looming over him his entire life. The next day Jasper admitted to how he had gone against his father's will and ventured out over the seas without his guidance and needless to say his father erupted with anger. Aside from the obvious ear splitting shouting and roaring from his father about how 'disobedient' Jasper was, his father made the mistake of saying "If you like disobeying me so much, why don't you just leave!?" and without a second thought Jasper left, leaving his father and sister behind on that small mass of land. He never saw his father again and had no idea what happened after to his father or sister. However he did see his sister again, but not until Jasper had found his way to the Aemulis Islands and had settled down into the Eremus Kingdom under the command of Linneus. Sure he had a leader now and was under a kind of hierarchy but Jasper still had more freedom than he ever had with his father. A few years later Alice appeared on the islands after a similar occurrence happened with her as with himself and their father.

Jasper now happily lives with his sister alongside many wonderful and friendly kingdom mates on Eremus and is living a life that he believes suits a dragon better than that of his upbringing. He has no idea what happened to his father, he could be dead for all he knows. Would Jasper be upset if his father as dead? Sure, but he would remember him more like a strict ruler who commanded him and forbade him to do what he wanted rather than a loving parent.

Being secluded from social interaction for such a long time when Jasper first arrived on the island his interactions with other dragons were awkward to say the least and wouldn't talk often, more often than not just listening on in conversations. Over the proceeding few years though he started to come out of his shell and started to integrate himself into kingdom life and soon became a lovable individual who was liked by most members of the kingdom.
